3 Earth-Like Planets Found and Our Long Distance Romance

Posted by on

A group of astronomers from MIT, NASA, University of Liege in Belgium and UCSD here in our hometown of San Diego discovered a system of three planets outside of our solar system orbiting a nearby star that potentially have life and water, as they appear to be earth-like. They’re 40 light years away which translates to 240 trillion miles or so, and I’ve been trying to come up with some sort of relatable calculation as to how far it’ll take to travel that distance, but I can’t because I’m mathematically deficient and for some reason can’t find a hands down answer on the entire internet due to a billion different variables like fuel, how long a human body can withstand certain g-forces, etc. I think it’s safe to say that the distance is unlikely for any of our lifetimes, so maybe when the Millenium Falcon is around making that Kessel Run in less than 12 parsecs, we can talk about visiting these spots. Or maybe we can just meet these potential galactic companions halfway? I mean, if they don’t show up, at least we tried. I thought we were in love anyway. They told us it was real and our parents were just trying to keep us apart. We could have been rebellious lovers together. Please come back.

Read about our tragic supposed love story here.
